Shocking Reasons Why A Lawyer Withdraws From A Case

When it comes to legal matters, it is very important for anyone to hire a legal representative to help you out. That is basically what they are meant for, they are like surgeons who you will definitely need if ever you need surgery, they are your repair person if ever you need something to get fixed in your house. They will of course know what to do with your case, especially if you chose the one that is right for your case.
However, you will have to work with your lawyer closely since you will need to provide information and legal documents that would help whatever case it may be, but then again, things don’t always work out the way you want it to, and there will be times that one has to give up and let go.
CAN LAWYERS FIRE THEIR CLIENTS?
The answer to that is simple, and that is a big yes. Keep in mind that just because you hired them, doesn’t mean they can’t fire you or they can’t withdraw themselves from the case. A lawyer and a client must work together for the benefit of the client, the lawyer’s job is the help their client when it comes to legal matter and to advise them on what to do.
If things between the client and the lawyer don’t seem to be going well, here are a couple of reasons why your lawyer may fire your or why they would withdraw from your case.
REASONS YOUR LAWYER MAY FIRE YOU
• You lied or you are asking them to lie
This has got to be one of the worse and the most common reasons why lawyers fire their clients despite them being the ones who will pay. A lawyer’s job is to help a client with their case and to be able to do that they must know every single detail of the story. If you ever lie or ask your attorney to lie and try to bribe them for it, they could either withdraw themselves from the case or lose their job as a lawyer.
• Failing to pay
Another reason may be the fact that you have failed to pay for their services. Being a lawyer is not an easy job, so if you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, try to ask for a public lawyer and don’t hire a private one because it will definitely cost you a fortune.
• You treat them with disrespect
Keep in mind that even if you hire a private lawyer that will represent you and advise you, regarding your case, it doesn’t mean that you could treat them with disrespect and boss them around. This is another common reasons why attorneys withdraw themselves from a case, they deserve to be treated as a human with respect just like everyone else.
REASONS AN ATTORNEY IS REQUIRED TO WITHDRAW FROM A CASE
• The lawyer may have violated the law or rules of professional conduct
Lawyers are people too, they are not perfect and they sometimes make the wrong choices as well. That is why they could also do something that could violate the law or that could make them lose their license as a lawyer if it is something grave.
• The lawyer may be physically or manually incapable of representing their client
This is possible if the attorney got into some sort of accident or have an emergency to attend to. They might have a family member that needs their full attention or they might have gotten into too much stress that lead to depression or any other mental illness.
• Possible conflict of interest
Finally, one more reason why your lawyer must withdraw from your case is that if they are incompatible with the case. For instance, you are hiring a lawyer for your criminal case, this would then mean that you must hire a criminal attorney, and not just any lawyer, because if you hired a divorce lawyer for example, that said lawyer wouldn’t be able to defend you or handle your case the way it should and you might lose your case. However, it is always up to the lawyer or the firm if the withdrawal was caused by a conflict of interest.
There is no such thing, as a perfect client-lawyer relationship, that is why both the client and the lawyer must both do their specific jobs so that they could actually win the case. Whether you are the one paying for your lawyer, or you are getting a public lawyer, you must perform your duties as well and listen to whatever they need you to say or do that has something to do with your case.
