Sally Hawkins is a product of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and after graduating from the drama school she kicked off her stage career with productions like “Romeo and Juliet” and “Much Ado About Nothing.” She later landed her first major screen role in the 2002 drama film “All or Nothing.”
Hawkins was then featured in several films in supporting roles including “Blue Jasmine” before taking the lead in movies like “Godzilla” and “Maudie.” However, her most memorable role is undoubtedly in Guillermo del Toro’s critically acclaimed film “The Shape of Water.” Retirement isn’t in her plans just yet, since we saw her deliver an exemplary performance in the 2021 film “The Phantom of the Open.”
