When Rachel Schofield chose to study broadcast journalism, she knew that she was made for television. She later graduated from Durham University after majoring in Modern European Languages. Schofield joined BBC Radio Newcastle in 1999 before moving to Radio 4. However, she quit the position in 2012 and later decided to return on a freelance basis.
In September 2020, she stood in for Storm Huntley to co-host the “Jeremy Vine” show. Schofield and broadcaster Jeremy Vine met during the United Kingdom general election period in 2001. He had embarked on a tour around Britain in a Volkswagen van at the time, but their meeting compelled him to settle down. The pair got hitched the next year and have two daughters.
