Most of us became better acquainted with quiz maestro Mark Andrew Labbett from the ITV game show “The Chase.” The show pits contestants against a master quizzer known as a chaser, and that’s the role he has maintained on the game show since 2009. From June 2021, Labbett joined the show’s ABC version. He was also one of the chasers on the Australian version of the show between 2016 to 2020.
Labbett attended the University of Glamorgan and taught mathematics at the Caldicot School. His interest in quizzing grew while he was working at a holiday camp and supplementing his earnings from quiz machines. He ended up on “Mastermind” in 1999 and it kicked off his career as a TV personality.
