Billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov was already an owner of a luxury yacht but he later it took a step further when he decided to purchase a $35-million island called simply the North Island. He apparently bought the island (and we doubt that he took out a loan for that) after spending a memorable holiday vacation on it. Prokhorov recently engaged in Russian politics and is the owner of the renowned NBA team Brooklyn Nets.
