Peter Ostrum
The actor who’ll forever be known as Charlie Bucket said goodbye to acting after a stint as a successful child star. Peter Ostrum played in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate factory when he was 12. The 1971 classic film would be his last performance.
After his short movie career, Peter studied and became a vet. After returning home during a gap between high school and college, the retired movie star had once worked with horses. The experience made a lasting impact, and in 1984 Peter graduated from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has, however, appeared in several TV documentaries and shows, including Top Chef: Just Desserts and Veterinarians On Call.
