Dolphins are social by nature, and it’s evident from how they communicate by whistling. Scientists are still trying to figure out if they communicate similarly as we do. They are also known for their graceful swimming skills, capable of recording a top speed of 18 miles per hour.
Dolphins are also peaceful creatures that will playfully “jump up” from the water when communicating or to shake off the pesky parasites that cling to their skins. This beautiful photo appears to have captured such a rare moment, and it looks like a showdown between the dolphin and the surfer.
