Laurene Powell runs the social impact organization, Emerson Collective, and was married to the late Apple founder, Steve Jobs. When Jobs was giving a lecture at the Stanford Business School—where Laurene was a new MBA student—in 1989, she snuck in and started up a conversation with the then-young entrepreneur. They had dinner together later that evening and eventually solidified their union by walking down the aisle in 1991. Unfortunately, in October 2015, Jobs died from complications of pancreatic cancer. At the time of his death, Jobs is estimated to have been worth $10.2 billion. Laurene is currently worth $21.4 billion.
