Nichelle Nichols – 88 Years Old
Nichelle Nichols is renowned as one of four surviving cast members of the original Star Trek series and films, along with William Shatner, George Takei, and Walter Koenig. Her portrayal of the character Nyota Uhura was regarded as groundbreaking for an African-American actress on American television.
She also got involved with the NASA project after Star Trek was canceled, offering to promote it from 1977 to 2015 by helping to recruit diverse astronauts. She’s also a singer who released two albums: 1967’s Down to Earth and 1991’s Out Of This World. In 2021 she had a role in the series 12 to Midnight.
