Hollywood’s Hidden Heroes: You Won’t Believe Which Celebrities Served in the Military!
Anthony Hopkins – Royal Artillery Regiment, British Army
Anthony Hopkins, the legendary actor known for his chilling portrayal of Hannibal Lecter, once donned a very different uniform—that of the British Army. Back in the swinging ’60s, before he terrified us on screen, Anthony served his country. He was a member of the Royal Artillery during his National Service from 1958 to 1960.
Swapping the stage for the barracks, he found himself in the picturesque landscapes of Yorkshire. While he didn’t chase serial killers there, he did chase discipline and camaraderie. It’s hard to imagine this Academy Award winner in army fatigues, but he has always been full of surprises!
