Vintage iPods are becoming coveted treasures, just like rare VHS tapes and outdated CDs. One may be able to sell an early ’00s iPod for a few hundred bucks, or perhaps a few thousand if they’re among those that keep outdated tech.
As with Star Wars miniatures from the ’80s, baseball cards from the ’60s, and Beanie Babies from the ’90s, early 2000s iPods are the newest collectibles to be sold on auction sites for obscenely high prices. There were reports of sealed first-generation iPods selling for as much as $20k when they discontinued the iPod Classic in late 2014.
