What These Famous Olympic Athletes Are Doing Now
Amy Van Dyken – Swimming
Fearless is the word that best describes Amy Van Dyken! As the former world record-holder in competitive swimming proved to the world that a burning passion and determination could take you beyond limits. Even after suffering a dreadful ATV accident that severed Amy’s spinal cord and paralyzed her from the waist down, the brave soul still participates in adaptive CrossFit competitions.
The American swimmer was the first female to win four medals together at the 1996 Summer Olympics. A pro at never surrendering to her illnesses, we’re not surprised Dyken earned the Swimming World‘s tag of American Swimmer of the Year for two consecutive years!
