The Chinese whizz-kid first took the world by surprise, winning a couple of gold medals for the women’s 10m platform and 10m synchronized platform at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Chen Ruolin is arguably the most decorated female diver, globally with five Olympic Gold medals to her name.
Sadly, the 28-year-old diver decided to take a backseat to her stellar career due to a nagging neck injury that her manager said might be fatal for her stunts. The springboards will undoubtedly miss this diving brilliance in the upcoming Olympics. Our ardent prayers are with Chen for her soon recovery!
