Did Barron Trump Apply to Harvard? Clearing Up the Rumors
Speculation often swirls around public figures, and in recent months Barron Trump’s college choices became part of the conversation. Questions surfaced online about whether he applied to Harvard and if rejection played a role in his education path. At the same time, a federal court ruling involving Harvard and the Trump administration added fuel to the discussion.
Here’s what actually happened and what it reveals about Trump, his family, and the ongoing clash with one of the nation’s top universities.
Did Barron Trump Apply to Harvard?
No. The claims suggesting Barron Trump faced rejection from Harvard are inaccurate. According to a spokesperson from the Office of the First Lady, he never submitted an application. Any statements indicating otherwise are false. Harvard itself has not issued any public comment on the matter.
During a Florida rally ahead of the 2024 election, Donald Trump said his youngest son had been accepted to every college he wanted. Barron made his choice and enrolled at New York University’s Stern School of Business. He is currently part of the class of 2028.

Where Barron Trump Goes to College
Barron Trump broke from the family’s established tradition by choosing NYU instead of following in the footsteps of his older siblings. He is now in his sophomore year at the Stern School of Business, pursuing studies in economics and business strategy.
Education paths of the Trump children:
1. Donald Trump Jr. graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2000.
2. Ivanka Trump also earned her degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004.
3. Eric Trump completed his studies at Georgetown University in 2006.
4. Tiffany Trump graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016, later continuing at Georgetown Law School, where she earned her law degree in 2020.
Barron is the only one of Donald Trump’s children to attend NYU, marking a shift from the Ivy League preference seen in the family’s academic history.
Trump and the Harvard Lawsuit
Barron Trump’s college choice has no connection to Harvard, but the university has been involved in a major legal dispute with Donald Trump’s administration. The conflict began when the administration claimed that universities were not doing enough to address antisemitism on campus.
Officials asked schools to end diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, hire outside auditors to review ideological diversity, and update admissions rules to block students seen as hostile to American values. Harvard refused and took the case to court.
On September 3, a federal judge ruled in Harvard’s favor. The judge said the administration used antisemitism as a political tool in what she called an “ideologically motivated assault” on top universities. The decision restored Harvard’s access to $3 billion in federal research funding, which had been at risk. The White House criticized the ruling and said it plans to appeal.
Trump’s Own College Years

Donald Trump’s personal academic path also draws frequent attention. He began his studies at Fordham University in the Bronx in 1964 before transferring to the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. In 1968, he graduated with a degree in economics.
That move to Wharton allowed Trump to join the ranks of Ivy League graduates, a point he has often highlighted throughout his career. Four of his five children later followed that same Ivy League route, making Barron’s decision to attend NYU stand out even more.
Separating Fact from Speculation
Barron Trump’s college journey has sparked speculation, but the facts are simple. He never applied to Harvard. Instead, he enrolled at NYU’s Stern School of Business, where he is shaping his own academic path.
Donald Trump’s dispute with Harvard over federal funding highlights broader tensions between his administration and American universities. While the family name draws public attention, Barron’s education remains separate from the legal battles involving Trump and Harvard.
